About the Artist
Born Barbara Jean Fuller to a military family stationed in 1968 in the Philippines, I have traveled back and forth between the U.S. and the Philippines. Now, I am an emerging artist living in the beautiful area of the Emerald Coast. Drawing from my Filipina heritage, I decided on the business name of Bautista Designs.
My creative career began by chance while working as an administrative assistant when I was given desktop publishing projects. My managers encouraged me to pursue, explore and expand on my skills sets.
After a few years of desktop publishing, I explored the newest (at the time) realm of the World Wide Web - when businesses were beginning to get online. I worked with some local businesses to develop concepts of their online presence, and then worked closely with graphic artists to bring their visions to life.
When I returned to life as a part time college student, I began exploring another creative channel - my first formal painting and drawing classes. I found an immediate love of oils, charcoal and pastels. I plan to pursue a BA of fine arts (graphics). In the meantime, I continue my works in oil, Conte Crayons, Prisma Colors, compressed charcoal, pastels and graphite.
